Ninety Years Young

Early in May we celebrated Dad's 90th birthday with an afternoon gathering of family, friends from across the decades, and fellow Juniper residents. While happy to party, Dad points out that he regularly eats lunch surrounded by his elders and that 90 doesn't seem quite the landmark it used to. 

Pecan pie, in honor of Dad's southern roots. Just ask him to say "I spilt pie on my tie and I thought I would die."

Old friends and new, and family

Deb and Don gathered stories and shared memories.

Many of the grandchildren were able to be there.

Bouquet sent by Dr. Edwards, Dad's former oncologist. Nearly 40 years ago, facing cancer, he told her that since laughter was the best medicine, they should both bring a joke to every encounter. Oh, and her job was to help him live to 80. He's made it, and then some.
