This is now a heritage blog. For the story of how it came to be, go to September 2011 and the first post, which ends:
It occurred to me that a good practice these next weeks would be to look for the daily moments of light, and to try and capture them in a photo or words. And having just gotten this website up, a blog seems a good way to structure this prayer of hope and attention. I won't post every day, but I will keep watch, with my eyes and with my heart. For years it served as a regular prayer practice. Eventually the loss of a hard drive, the learning curve of a new photo editor and camera, and then all the effects of the Covid lockdown, brought the blog to a slow end. Perhaps one day it will return in a new form, but for now, there are many past photos that can still give delight and a moment for meditation. You can explore by date or using the search bar. The bar searches text rather than images but as the posts refer to the photos, putting in a color, a season, a location, a plant or bird name will bring up connected images. Or try themes: light and dark, life and death, church seasons, shadows. Or a name: Heidi, Julian, Mary.
